Chief Executive Officer of the National Works Agency (NWA) Everton Hunter is underscoring the need to add the replacement of old water pipelines to the list of works being carried out under the Shared Prosperity through Accelerated Improvement to our Road Network (SPARK) Programme.
Mr. Hunter suggested the alignment of duties as a strategy to prevent the National Water Commission from digging up roadways already restored by the NWA to fix the pipes.
The NWA CEO noted that while the situation has posed challenges, he understands that the water commission is not to be blamed.
He was speaking during yesterday’s sitting of Parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee.
