Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness has described Jamaica’s energy costs as prohibitive, noting that the issue of energy is a big challenge which must be tackled.
As the Government renegotiates the all island energy license set to take effect July 2027, Dr. Holness says the Government is seeking to have tangible reductions in electricity and energy costs for households and businesses.
The Prime Minister says the administration is seeking to make real changes in the energy sector emphasizing the use of alternative energy sources and nuclear technology in particular.
He was speaking last evening at the Jamaica chamber of Commerce’s 41st annual awards banquet at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
