Three people killed in separate road crashes in St. Catherine and Trelawny yesterday

Three people died in separate motor vehicle collisions yesterday in St Catherine and Trelawny.

They have been identified as 33-year-old Ricardo Collins of Binns Road, Kingston 11, 23-year-old Shaddai Mason of Woodwing Way, Waterford St Catherine and 36-year-old Shaneil Johnson, a laundry assistant of Bounty Hall, Trelawny.

Collins and Mason succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash along the Edward Seaga Highway in St Catherine.

Reports from the Ferry police indicate that about 7:45 A.M they were travelling in a Honda Civic, when the driver reportedly lost control and collided with a metal railing.

They were pronounced dead at hospital.

About five minutes earlier, at approximately 7:40 A.M., Johnson, died following a separate collision on Market Street in Falmouth.

According to the Falmouth Traffic Department, he was a passenger in a Toyota Voxy, when the driver reportedly lost control and collided with a utility pole.

He succumbed to his injuries at hospital.

These incidents bring the total number of people to die on the nation’s roads since the start of the year to 372.
