Two men shot dead and two others hospitalised following gun attack at Ocho Rios Market

Two men are dead and two others have been hospitalised following a gun attack at the Ocho Rios Market in St. Ann last night.

Those killed have been identified as 25-year-old Stevie Drake of Great Pond, Ocho Rios and 56-year-old Basil Arthurs a Ministry of Health employee of Top Bay, Discovery Bay, both in St. Ann.

Police report that about 10:10 p.m., patrons were inside a bar in the Ocho Rios Market when they were pounced upon by a man armed with a handgun who opened gunfire at patrons.

After the shooting 4 men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Drake died at the scene.

The other 3 were taken to hospital where Arthurs died while being treated.

The other 2 were admitted in serious condition.

The shooter escaped in a waiting motor vehicle.
