Twenty-six-year-old Miguel Myrie, a businessman of Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth, has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm following a reported incident in Lacovia, St Elizabeth on Saturday, September 14.
Reports from the St Elizabeth police are that about 5pm on the date mentioned above, Myrie and a woman with whom he is intimately involved, got into an argument.
During the altercation, Myrie allegedly slapped the woman on her face, causing swelling.
The matter was reported to the police by the woman, and was Myrie later apprehended.
He was subsequently charged based on the complainant’s statement and a question-and-answer session that was held.
A court date is being finalised for him.
