Ambassador Major General Antony Anderson appointed Chief Executive Officer of NaRRA
Ambassador Major General Antony Anderson has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA).
Prime Minister, Dr. Andrew Holness, made the revelation during a post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House this morning.
Ambassador Anderson will assume duties on June 1.
Dr. Holness said the appointment follows extensive advertisements both locally and internationally.
Over 100 people across the globe submitted applications, with seven of those applicants shortlisted.
Dr. Holness noted that the final decision came down to someone who has served the country well.
He said that Ambassador Anderson’s appointment comes at a critical stage in Jamaica’s post-Hurricane Melissa recovery and reconstruction programme.
Dr. Holness said the Ambassador’s leadership will be central to ensuring that reconstruction is carried out with urgency, but also with the discipline required to protect public resources, coordinate major projects, and deliver lasting national benefit.
