At least 8 Haitians apprehended between Thursday and yesterday in St. Catherine remain in police custody and are being processed.
Commanding officer for the St. Catherine south police division Senior Superintendent Leighton Grey said two men were held on Thursday after residents alerted the police to a boat at a beach, in the Bushy Park area.
Following a search, 6 more Haitians were found at an abandoned premises in Old Harbour, yesterday.
SSP Grey noted that the Haitians are being processed by representatives from the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency (PICA) and public health department.
