The woman who died from injuries sustained in a St Ann motor vehicle crash that left 23 other people injured on Easter Sunday has been identified.

She is Suzette Thomas, a 49-year-old housekeeper of Wildman Street in Kingston.

Reports from the Ocho Rios police are that about 11:20am, Thomas was among passengers in a Nissan Caravan heading towards St Mary, when on reaching a section of the Fern Gully main road, the right front tyre blew out.

As a result, the driver reportedly lost control of the motor bus, which collided with a stone wall and overturned.

In total, 23 individuals sustained injuries, including 16 children.

Prompt response from the police, firefighters, and fellow motorists facilitated the transportation of the injured to the hospital, where Thomas was pronounced dead.

Currently, six individuals remain in serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
