Government on track to relocate shelterees still housed at schools following Hurricane Melissa

The Government says it is on track to relocate shelterees still housed at schools following the passage of Hurricane Melissa last October.
In April, the Local Government Ministry noted that eight schools were operating as shelters, housing 81 persons.
The Ministry pledged to relocate them to viable accommodations by May 8.
With that deadline just two days away, questions were raised about the matter at this morning’s post-Cabinet media briefing.
In response, Information and Education Minister, Dr. Dana Morris Dixon, said efforts to remove the shelterees have begun.
