Bank of Jamaica Governor Richard Byles has described leading the BOJ as an independent central bank as the major accomplishment of his tenure.
He made the comment during his final Quarterly Press Briefing yesterday.
Governor Byles, who is set to demit office on August 18, said that the central bank shifted to independent operations in 2022 and has faced various challenges since then.
He lauded the tremendous efforts of his team in overcoming the challenges.
