NaRRA Bill approved by House of Representatives early this morning after marathon session

The National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA) Bill has been approved by the House of Representatives.
The Bill, which has been fiercely debated in Parliament and among members of the public is designed to establish a single central authority to lead, coordinate and expedite post-hurricane reconstruction efforts particularly following the destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa last October.
Deliberations on the Bill continued up to early this morning.
31 Government members voted in favour of the Bill while 15 members of the Opposition voted against.
16 people were absent.
