A shopkeeper in Manchester is now facing a wounded with intent charge following the reported chopping another man who accidentally hit his vehicle with a stone.

The shopkeeper, 53-year-old Sachmo Green of a Waltham address in Jamaica’s youngest parish, was arrested and charged following the incident in Bonito Heights last Thursday.

Reports from the Mandeville police are that about 4am, a man and his girlfriend had a dispute, during which he threw a stone that the police said accidentally hit Green’s vehicle.

Green reportedly went to make a formal report to the police, returned to the location and allegedly inflicted several chop wounds to the man.

The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Green was subsequently arrested and charged with the offence.

His court date is being finalised, the police said.
