As manufacturers take steps to become licensed under the new provisions of the Government’s Special Consumption Tax (SCT), Tax Administration Jamaica has been implementing initiatives to support them.
This includes a webinar session, which was held on May 4, to help businesses understand the new legislative requirements and tax obligations.
A follow-up online panel discussion is being organised for Thursday, May 14, to provide additional guidance, especially regarding licensing and registration requirements.
The SCT took effect May 1, but manufacturers have been granted an extension to May 15 to be licensed under the new provisions.
