A man who was listed as a person of interest in relation to the stabbing of a 13 year-old girl in Harbour View, St. Andrew on Saturday is in police custody.
The 29-year-old is of Bayshore Park, Kingston.
According to lawmen, the man went to the premises of his child’s mother.
It’s reported that an altercation developed between persons at the location.
Lawmen say the 13-year-old intervened and was stabbed her in the abdomen.
The child was taken to hospital where she has been admitted in serious condition.
The man was named as a person of interest in the matter.
Head of Police Area 4, Assistant Commissioner Michael Phipps said the man surrendered yesterday around 6:30 p.m.
