The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has collected nearly $4 million in signage fees.
This the KSAMC attributes to its signage compliance outreach programme.
The Corporation says by taking its services directly into plazas and commercial centres, it engaged 140 businesses, increasing compliance from 9 to 53 percent.
$3.96 million was collected.
Deputy Mayor of Kingston Lorraine Dobson said the initiative helped raise awareness about regulations and improved compliance, leading to better collection of fees from advertisers and property owners.
The Deputy Mayor underscored the importance of engaging businesses directly.
She was speaking at the KSAMC monthly council meeting on Tuesday.
