Finance Minister Fayval Williams says the Government will be reviewing the new provisions of its Special Consumption Tax (SCT) on sweetened beverages.
She made the disclosure during a recent tour of the Pepsi-Cola Jamaica manufacturing facility in Kingston as part of ongoing consultations between the Government and the manufacturing sector about the new tax.
The SCT which is set at $0.22 per gram of added sugar took effect on May 1.
Mrs. Williams said the tour will help her team refine the industry guidelines to ensure production is not disrupted while the Government collects the revenues on behalf of the Jamaican people.
