How one Beryllium security guard reportedly fatally shot another

The Beryllium security guard who was on Tuesday fatally shot by his colleague at the company’s offices on Blake Road in Kingston has been identified by the police.

He is Kevon Hunter, a member of the Third Battalion the Jamaica Regiment in the Jamaica Defence Force. He was from Scarface Pathway Kingston 12.

Hunter was fatally shot about 11:15 am by another security guard, who is also a Beryllium employee.

The senior lawman said the police are investigating further.

In the meantime, in a brief statement Tuesday afternoon, Beryllium described the shooting incident as an “unfortunate accident”. The company also said it is working closely with the police in their investigations.

Beryllium also extended their sincere condolences to the family of their “beloved team member”.
