A man died after gunmen opened fire on the motor bus in which he was travelling along the Mandela Highway in St. Catherine, around 7 o’clock this morning.
The name of the deceased has not been released.
What appears to be a dashcam video of the incident shows men on a motorcycle driving alongside the bus and shooting at the vehicle then speeding off.
The police were summoned and the wounded man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The incident resulted in the westbound lane of the Mandela highway, heading towards Spanish Town and Portmore, being closed.
It was reopened shortly after 1:00 p.m.
