The inaugural race also saw the first ever father/daughter winners in a Jamaican 5k with Vivian Lawes and his 12-year-old daughter Kaelyn Lawes, winning top prize for and fastest time in the Male Walk category and the fastest time overall in the Female Run category respectively.

Lawes said; “I’m incredibly proud to have participated in the 5K Eco Run, especially alongside my daughter, Kaelyn. Winning the top prize in the male walk category is an honour, but more importantly, it’s wonderful to support an event that combines fitness with a cause as significant as environmental preservation. Sotheby’s and Tryall have created something truly special, and it’s a privilege to be part of it.”

Kayelyn was also excited to have been part of the run, she said; “I had so much fun running in the 5K Eco Run with my dad! Winning the fastest time in the girls’ category was really cool, but what made it even better was knowing we were helping protect the environment. I can’t wait to do it again next year!”
